Mickey Wynne is a Liverpool-born guitarist, songwriter and production music composer. He starts playing guitar at the age of six, taught by his father, and begins writing music when he is nine. His early musical background includes listening to rock, folk and classical music with his grandfather and uncles, which helps shape his broad musical interests.

Early career

By the time he is sixteen, Wynne is accomplished enough on guitar to teach Julian Lennon. At fifteen, he plays in his first band, Captain Zombie and The X-Ray Plates. He later becomes a house writer for MCA Records in New York, adding professional songwriting to his work as a performer and guitarist.

The Mickey Wynne Band

Wynne fronts The Mickey Wynne Band, with which he returns to the live circuit. The band previews the Running on Empty EP at the 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street in London and then plays an EP release party at Brighton’s Prince Albert. The group is also in rehearsal for summer festival appearances and plans to record a debut album.
