Michelle

Michelle is the stage name of German schlager singer Tanja Hewer, also known as Tanja Gisela Hewer and previously Tanja Shitawey. She is from Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany, and is born in 1972. She starts her career in 1993 with her debut album Erste Sehnsucht.

Career

Michelle represents Germany in the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Wer Liebe lebt” (“To Live for Love”). Her work is in schlager, and she is regarded as one of Germany’s most successful schlager singers. Across her career, she receives 17 gold and platinum certifications and sells more than 2 million units of her records in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
