Michael Dog is a UK DJ, organiser and record label founder associated with the free festival and psychedelic dance music scenes. He starts going to the Stonehenge free festival at an impressionable age, then helps set up Club Dog and attends many more free festivals while they are still operating in that form.

Club and label work

He later co-runs Megadog for many years and goes on to found Planet Dog Records. These projects place him within a network of club culture, event promotion and independent record releasing.

DJ work and styles

Dog DJs for many years and plays across a wide range of styles, including hard trance, house, drum and bass and chillout. He describes continuing to do so on a more occasional basis.

Recording work

He co-writes an album with Steve Rowlands of Full Moon Scientist. The record is called 133 Thursdays and appears on Interchill Records.

Background

Dog describes himself as having identified with hippie culture from his early teens and later as an “old hippie”.
