Micah P. Hinson is a US singer-songwriter and guitarist associated with alternative country and americana. He is from Memphis, United States, and was born in 1981. His music is rooted in americana and alternative country, with elements of gospel and blues, and he is known for a warm, husky vocal style.

Career

His first full album, Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress, is produced in 2004 by the Earlies, who are also friends, collaborators and occasional touring companions. When Hinson performs with them, they act as his backing band. Earlier four-track recordings are later given a proper album release in 2005 under the title The Baby & the Satellite.

Touring and collaborations

He tours with and opens for artists including Will Oldham, Iron & Wine, David Gray and Calexico.
