Meute

Meute is a techno marching band from Hamburg, Germany, active since 2015. The group brings together brass players and drummers, using acoustic instruments to perform music associated with a DJ setup.

Its line-up consists of Philip Morton Andernach, Sebastian Borkowski, Thomas Burhorn, Timon Fenner, Adrian Hanack, Johnny Johnson, Marco Möller, Nando Schäfer, Hans-Christian Stephan, Philipp Westermann and André Wittmann.

The group works at the intersection of brass band, techno and trance, and is described as combining driving techno rhythms with expressive brass band arrangements. Its performances move electronic music away from the DJ booth and place the energy of the music directly on stage or in the crowd.

Meute performs with or without electricity and in a range of settings, from clubs to outdoor spaces.
