Metro Boomin is an American hip hop and trap record producer, record executive, songwriter and DJ from St. Louis, United States. He is born in 1993 and begins making music production while still in high school.
Career
Metro Boomin gains recognition through work with Atlanta-based hip hop and trap artists including Future, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane and Migos. He becomes one of the most in-demand producers in contemporary rap and is widely associated with a run of major hits and high-profile collaborations.
His production credits include several top 20 singles, among them Migos’ “Bad and Boujee”, Future’s “Mask Off”, 21 Savage’s “Bank Account”, Post Malone’s “Congratulations” and Kodak Black’s “Tunnel Vision”. He also releases full-length collaborative projects with 21 Savage, Nav, Big Sean and Gucci Mane.
Albums
Metro Boomin releases his debut solo album, Not All Heroes Wear Capes, in 2018. It reaches number one on the Billboard 200. His second studio album, Heroes & Villains, follows in 2022 through Republic Records and Boominati. A deluxe edition, Heroes & Villains (Heroes Version), appears with instrumental versions of the standard tracks.

In 2017, Forbes describes him as one of the most in-demand hitmakers in the world, and Stereogum calls him one of the most original and important voices in rap. “Congratulations” by Post Malone featuring Quavo is certified Diamond in 2019.
