MetalTech

MetalTech is an Edinburgh-based rock, metal and techno crossover act formed in 2009. The project presents itself as a fusion of greasepaint, leather, electronic programming and heavy guitar work, with a sound shaped around the meeting point of metal and techno.

Line-up and characters

The group’s named members are Erik Tricity, who handles vocals, guitar and programming, The Insidious Dr. Mayhem on lead guitar, and Lord Thrapston Flagellator. The act also uses the idea of a machine created to absorb hatred, and presents Erik Tricity as the physical form of the project, while Dr. Mayhem and Flagellator are part of its fictionalised identity.

Style

MetalTech is associated with the ebm tag and is described as a rock/metal/techno crossover. Its imagery and presentation draw on metal aesthetics alongside electronic music and performance ideas.
