memotone

memotone is the alias of Memoosh, a Newport-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer. Working in ambient, electroacoustic, electronic, IDM and nu jazz, the project draws on ambient, jazz and contemporary classical influences.

Memoosh is self-taught and develops music through a learn-by-playing approach. Since 2007, the work combines piano, clarinet, percussion and electronics to build layered, organic textures alongside leftfield electronic elements.

In addition to the memotone project, Memoosh has experience writing for chamber ensembles, jazz trios and pop bands. Collaborators include Carrier, Jabu and Mister Water Wet.
