Mellow P

Mellow P is a Belgian hip-hop artist from the Flemish rap scene. He starts out rapping in Dutch with the group Vlaamse Primitieven before that project fades out, and in 2004 he releases his first solo demo independently.

Solo releases

His first solo release is Steekproef, a twenty-track demo that receives a very positive response. Around two years later he follows it with Stroomversnelling, a collection of tracks and collaborations from the 2004 to 2006 period. He also has a first official debut album planned under the title Schoppenaas.

Community work and production

Mellow P helps found the Ghent organisation 9000 Sessies. What begins as a freestyle session in the Zuidpark develops into an association, and the organisation later releases 9000 Sessies Volume 1, a record that he produces almost entirely.

Live work

He is regularly invited as a judge for several Flemish MC battles. He also appears live alongside acts including Digable Planets at the Centrale in Ghent, De Hop Allstars at the De Nachten literary and musical festival in Antwerp, Schoolrock in Aartselaar, t Hof van Commerce at the Magdalenazaal in Bruges, the two-day Locoflows hip-hop festival in Bruges, and Uberdope at the Coolsweat Party in Bruges.
