Meera

Meera is an Iranian rock band based in Tehran, Iran. It is associated with Persian rock, art rock, pop, alternative, and Iranian underground music. The band is described as one of the few Iranian rock acts to work consistently in art rock and to place emphasis on lyrical writing, cultural identity, and Iranian literature.

Background

Meera is presented as one of the pioneers of modern Iranian rock music after the revolution. It is also noted for being among the first rock acts based in Iran to secure state approval for an official album release.

Members

The band includes Babak Akhondi on guitars, Dara Daraee on bass and vocals, Farzam Rahimi on vocals and songwriting, Reza Moghaddas on keyboards, and Kasra Ebrahimi on percussion programming and drums. Arash Pajand Moghaddam is listed as the band’s last drummer.
