Medic
Medic is a US hardcore group. The name also appears on several other acts, including a dubstep project from San Clemente, California; an industrial/electro band; a now defunct Washington, DC grindcore and thrash band; and a Nashville indie pop trio, but the hardcore group is identified as a United States act.
The group forms in February 2011, when four young men meet in an empty church to discuss making the music they want and building their own sound. They work with producer Michael Rossback to develop their material, with frontman Aaron Wagner saying that the band has not played together in a room before arriving at Rossback’s house and that the producer makes them perform the songs live. Bassist Drew Barnard is also part of the group.
After months of work, Medic finishes its first EP in August 2011. The release consists of five songs, and the band begins playing in the Denver area with the aim of building an audience. Wagner describes the project as being about hope, community and a positive response to cynicism, and says the music is intended to be part of a healing process for listeners.
