MC Jakes

MC Jakes is a British vocalist, MC and producer associated with dubstep, drum and bass and electronic bass music. He is also known as Jakes and is identified with the Bristol scene, where he founds and leads the dubstep crew H.E.N.C.H.

Vocal work and live performance

Jakes provides vocals on TC’s tracks Deep, Drink and Mindkiller. He tours internationally with acts including TC, D*Minds and Pendulum, and his live work is noted for an energetic style that carries across club and rave settings.

H.E.N.C.H. and production

As the founder and central figure in H.E.N.C.H., Jakes develops a profile as a producer as well as a performer. His productions include 3KOUT, 2 Steps Back, Titan Dub and Warp 9, which circulate among major dubstep DJs and selectors such as N-Type, Mary Anne Hobbs and Skream.
