Mayans

Mayans is a name used by more than one band. One Mayans acts as a lo-fi, post-punk and shoegaze group from Bristol in the UK. Another Mayans is a screamo band from New York that is active in the mid-2000s.

The New York group starts as a five-piece made up of four friends from Rockland County. It plays emotional punk rock with a religious Mayans-themed atmosphere and later becomes a four-piece after the vocalist leaves. It releases a couple of splits and demos, mainly on Playground Politics.
