Max Styler

Max Styler is an American electronic music artist and DJ from San Luis Obispo County, California. He works in tech house and related electronic styles.

Early life and start in music

He begins making music at the age of eight and is playing guitar with a local band within a year. He also performs at local venues in San Luis Obispo County, which leads him to focus on live performance. He later moves into mixing and producing his own electronic music.

DJ work and early releases

By the age of 16, he is balancing high school, studio work, and DJ sets at local events and school dances. In February 2013, his original track “Ready For Launch” is picked up by the EDM Network (Dubstep.NET), where it gains more than 38,000 plays and 3,800 downloads and reaches the week’s top five on the site.

Live performances

In June 2013, he meets Johnny Kenny of Collective Effort Events, who helps put him in front of larger audiences. On 6 July 2013, he opens for Above & Beyond at the Avila Beach Party in front of a sold-out crowd. He also performs alongside Laidback Luke at the Warfield in San Francisco and the Senator Theater in Chico, Bro Safari at Avalon Hollywood, and Steve Aoki at Cal Poly University.

Record label release

On his 18th birthday, he signs his track “Mission Control” to Dim Mak for inclusion on New Noise Vol 6. He is later described as working full time in the studio after moving quickly through high school.
