Mau Maus
Mau Maus are a punk band from Sheffield, United Kingdom, and are described as one of the UK’s first hardcore punk groups. The band is associated with the punk and punk rock styles, and the named members are Alf, Bunny, Andy Levick, Podge and Chris Taylor.
Early releases
In the early 1980s, Mau Maus release a series of EPs on the Pax and Rebellion labels. These include Society's Rejects, No Concern, Facts Of War and Tear Down The Walls.
Chart placement and related material
Each of those EPs reaches the UK Indie Top 10. The group name also appears in connection with Spike Lee’s film Bamboozled, where a rap group using the same name appears on the soundtrack, including the track “Blak iz Blak”.
