Matt McCarthy

Matt McCarthy is a comedian from Providence, Rhode Island. He begins performing as the Fordham University mascot and later develops a career in stand-up, on-camera work, and voice-over work.

Comedy career

He is a finalist in the New York Underground Comedy Festival’s Emerging Comics Contest and appears in the “New Faces” category at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival. He also wins an Emerging Comics of New York award for his work as the regular cable guy in Verizon’s national campaign.

McCarthy performs a one-man show at Upright Citizens Brigade in both New York and Los Angeles, and he records a solo CD at Comix in New York. He also stars in several national on-camera and voice-over commercials.

Screen and hosting work

He hosts AMC’s Action Pack with comedian Nick Stevens. He is also due to appear in John Oliver’s stand-up series on Comedy Central and in the film The Other Guys.
