Materia

Materia is a progressive metal band from Szczecinek, Poland, formed in 2007. The band records a demo CD, Vandals, in 2009, and follows it with the EP Holidays On The Angels Insland in 2011. Its debut album, Case of Noise, appears in 2013.

Career and live work

Materia builds a reputation quickly through live performances and competition results. It plays the Sonisphere festival at Warsaw airport Bemowo in 2012 alongside Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. The band also wins a place on the Red Bull stage at the XXX Jubilee Festival in Jarocin after a competition run by the Go Agead agency. Earlier, the group is noticed during the Woodstock 2009 eliminations and semi-final in Gdynia, where it wins a special prize of a recording session at Izabelin Studio. In 2011 it reaches the semi-final again and wins the competition, leading to a performance on the Big Stage at Woodstock 2011.
