Marw
Marw is a UK black/death metal group from Liverpool, active from 2015. The band draws primarily on black metal and death metal influences and has a self-titled three-track digital EP available online.
The name is also used by a separate Irish music group based in the Czech Republic, which has performed since autumn 2000. That ensemble plays Irish music with a traditional foundation while also incorporating wider modern world-music influences from other European regions and other styles.
Its repertoire is built around original instrumental and vocal material written by the band members. The line-up includes Veronika Součková on vocals, Michael Komárek on flute and whistles, Jana Markusová on fiddle, Kristina Volná on bodhrán and cajon, and David Mikulášek on guitar. The group uses traditional instruments such as wooden flute, low whistles, fiddle, bodhrán and guitar, alongside vocals and less traditional instruments including the cajon.
