Wet Wet Wet

Pellow fronts Wet Wet Wet, a Scottish pop group. The band achieves its main commercial success in the late 1980s and 1990s. In 1997 drummer Tommy Cunningham leaves, after which the group’s success declines. Pellow later leaves the band in May 1999 to pursue solo work.

Solo career

His solo career begins with a first tour in November 1999. He releases his first solo single, Close To You, in 2001, followed a few weeks later by his first solo album, Smile. Later that year he releases another single, I’ve Been Around The World, and plays a seven-date British tour called the Smile Tour.

Stage and charity work

In 2002, Pellow hosts and sings in Girls' Night Out, one of a week of performances in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall. This appearance leads to his being offered the role of Billy Flynn, the lawyer in Chicago in London’s West End.
