Martha Bean is a singer-songwriter from Leicester whose work combines introspective writing with intricate vocals and fingerpicking guitar. Her style is described as drawing on the early work of Joan as Policewoman, with early jazz vocal tones associated with Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, alongside the chordal textures of Radiohead and Jeff Buckley.

She wins over live crowds with fingerpicking guitar technique and falsetto singing, and has supported acts including Seth Lakeman and Scott Matthews. Her release The State Of The Art EP is part of her recorded output.
