Markers
Markers is a collaboration between Jason Carty and Jodie Cox, both active figures in the London math rock scene from the late 1990s into the early 2000s. Carty is associated with Foe, while Cox is associated with Bullet Union and Exes. The two first meet on stage while playing in their first bands, Geiger Counter and Ursa, and later work around the independent label House of Stairs.
After the London scene recedes, they go separate ways and lose touch for more than a decade before reconnecting and beginning to collaborate closely. Markers is the first project in which they play together. The pair strip their sound down to a minimal format, removing vocals and a rhythm section so that the focus stays on each note played by their instruments.
There is also a Japanese band with the same name.
