Mario

Mario Barrett is an R&B singer, dancer, model and actor from Baltimore, United States. Born in 1986, he is also identified with the groups We Are Family Collective and Knightwritaz, and his work is associated with contemporary R&B, hip hop and R&B.

Career

He is signed to J Records and releases his self-titled debut album in 2002. The album is a commercial and critical success and sells over 96,000 copies in its first week. In 2004, he releases Turning Point, which includes “Let Me Love You”. The song becomes one of the year’s biggest hits and spends nine weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. He follows this with Go! in 2007 and DNA in 2009.

Other work

Alongside music, Mario acts in films including Step Up, Freedom Writers and Destination Fame. He also appears in season six of Dancing with the Stars and is the face of PETA’s “Ink, Not Mink” campaign.
