Maria Somerville

Maria Somerville is an Irish artist from Connemara in western Ireland whose music combines folk forms with post-punk, traditional Irish motifs, dream pop, starry eyed pop and hypnotic drones. Her work is rooted in the landscape of Ireland, and her sound uses dense, ethereal textures, sparse percussion and electronic elements alongside ghostly vocals.

Debut album

Her debut album, All My People, reflects these influences through spacious production and layered atmospheres. It draws on the wilderness of the Irish landscape and uses a mix of acoustic and electronic ideas to build an immersive sound.

Live performance

Somerville performs both as a solo artist and with a band. Her live setup develops through her connection with fellow Irish musician Davy Kehoe.
