Maria Daines

Maria Daines is a UK blues and blues-rock artist from Cambridgeshire who fronts a hard rock band and performs original material written with guitarist and producer Paul Killington. The pair form the core of the Maria Daines Band, which begins in 1996 and becomes a regular part of the live music scene. Their songs are broadcast on BBC and FM radio, and they make several television appearances. The act builds an audience in more than 20 countries.

Writing and recording

Daines writes lyrics and melodies, while Killington writes the music and plays the live instruments on their recordings. Live appearances and support slots

The Maria Daines Band opens for Pink at Cardiff International Arena in 2007 on the final leg of the I'm Not Dead tour, during a concert billed as a Party for Animals event that raises more than £90,000 for six animal welfare charities. The band also supports Hawkwind on several UK tour dates, including Rock4Rescue at Shepherd's Bush Empire, and has past shows with Wishbone Ash and The Groundhogs.

Recordings and film use

Several Maria Daines and Paul Killington songs appear in the documentary films Saving America's Horses, A Minority Pastime and Dark Water Rising, which tell survival stories of family pets rescued during Hurricane Katrina. Daines is described as a multi-award-winning international vocalist and songwriter.
