Marc Romboy is a German electronic music artist, DJ and producer associated with minimal techno, techno and tech house. He is from Mönchengladbach and is based around the German electronic scene.

Career

Romboy becomes closely associated with the Berlin label Systematic Recordings, which he founds in 2004. The label acts as a platform for his own productions and for other artists. His music and DJ sets focus on electronic house with a strong breakdance influence and a sound that recalls classic Chicago dance music.

His work on Systematic includes collaborations and releases with artists such as Booka Shade and Blake Baxter, and he signs material by producers including Martin Landsky, John Dahlbäck, Phonique, Jence and Abysm. He establishes a strong presence on the international club scene after a small number of releases on the label.

Albums

Romboy releases his first artist album, Gemini, in 2006. His second album, Contrast, follows in 2008 on Systematic Records and is built around collaborations with vocalists. Chelonis R. Jones appears on two tracks, Blake Baxter contributes vocals to “Fly Away”, and Mr. K-Alexi sings on two tracks.
