Mantar

Mantar is a sludge metal duo from Hamburg, Germany, formed in 2012. The group is active from 2012 and works across black metal, doom metal, metal, punk and sludge metal.

Debut album

The band’s debut album, Death by Burning, is released by Svart Records after being recorded in 2013. It is described as a raw, self-produced, fully DIY recording built around drums and guitar, with no bass guitar used on the record.

Sound and style

Mantar’s music combines driving percussion with distorted guitar and heavy, abrasive textures. Its sound brings together blackened melodies, feedback-heavy passages and doom-influenced heaviness.
