Malpas

Malpas is an indie music project formed by songwriter Ali M Forbes and producer Andy Savours. The group is active from 2009 and combines traditional instruments, analogue synthesisers, processed beats and low-key vocal melodies to make music that sits between intimate folk songwriting and ambient electronica. Its sound is described as difficult to categorise, while remaining emotionally direct.

Releases

Malpas releases its debut EP, Promise, in November 2013. The EP gains attention on blogs including The 405, The Line of Best Fit, Music Ninja and Indie Shuffle, and passes 50,000 listens on SoundCloud. The track Charlemagne receives repeated plays on BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio.

Debut album

The project prepares its debut album, Rain River Sea, for release through Killing Moon Records in the UK and Europe and Yebo Music in North America.
