Malarkey

Malarkey is the house alias of UK DJ, producer and songwriter Sam Butler. He pauses the project in 2019 to focus on other work, including the D&B/pop alias bvd kult, and then returns during the Covid-19 period to continue it.

Releases and recognition

He debuts with the track I Got 5 On It, a collaboration with Marc Benjamin. The single reaches number one on Beatport’s Future House chart and passes one million Spotify streams. Malarkey later releases music on HEXAGON and Spinnin’ Records.

His records receive support from a range of dance music artists, including Diplo, Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Don Diablo, Armin van Buuren, Oliver Heldens, Alok, Hardwell and Jonas Blue. His singles also play on stations such as BBC Radio 1, Slam FM, Sirius XM and Kiss FM.

Later singles

On HEXAGON, the singles MONEY and Shackles (Praise You) both reach number one on the 1001Tracklists charts. They also place on the Global Dance Chart, at number five and number eleven respectively.
