Mai Mai Mai

Mai Mai Mai is the electronic, drone and ambient project of Antonio Tricoli from Italy. The project draws on sounds associated with ambient, drone, electronic, death industrial, post-industrial and power noise, and it combines field recordings, soundscapes and rhythmic elements.

Tricoli’s music is shaped by a childhood spent moving with his parents around Europe and the Near East, absorbing different cultures, atmospheres and sounds from the places he lived in. Those experiences form the basis of the project’s approach, which aims at music that suggests ancient and arcane settings and sits between eastern and western influences. He is now based in a village on the Ionic Coast in southern Italy.
