Magic Lamp is a Japanese group from Tokyo, active since 2000. The group is associated with indie pop, and also with bossa nova, city pop, dream pop, folk pop and jazz pop. The members listed are 永井祐介, 榊原香保里 and 染谷大陽. They release music on Botanical House.

Background

Magic Lamp begin as web administrators for two sites, including one dedicated to the group itself. That site contains a range of articles connected to the band, and the group also promotes other acts, including Weird Dream and Redstarrising. The band has been active for a long time and is described as operating across a range of projects and appearances.

Live activity

Magic Lamp appear live in Cambridgeshire on 25 March 2006 alongside Los Guys, Scatter, Andy Whittle and Point of Origin.
