Maduk, real name Mark van der Schoot, is a drum and bass producer and DJ from Amsterdam, Netherlands. Born in 1990, he works within drum and bass and electronic music, and is associated with liquid funk. He releases music on Liquicity, Hospital Records, Viper Recordings, Monstercat and Fokuz Recordings.

Career

Van der Schoot begins producing in 2010 and first comes to prominence in 2011 through the Liquicity Drum & Bass YouTube channel. He gives his track “Avalon” to Maris Goudzwaard, who runs Liquicity, and it is uploaded to the channel. The track suits the liquid drum and bass style that becomes central to the channel and is released on Liquicity’s label.

He joins Goudzwaard in 2013 to set up the Liquicity label and club nights in Amsterdam. He continues releasing music through Liquicity and other labels as his profile grows.

Releases and recognition

Maduk releases his debut album, Never Give Up, on Hospital Records in 2016. He also wins Best Newcomer DJ and Producer at the Drum&Bass Awards in 2014 and 2015.
