Madonnatron

Madonnatron are a London group active from 2014. They form around Red Peril and are associated with Trashmouth Records. Their music sits within post-punk, alternative rock and rock.

Band history

The group develops over a little under two years from a point where the members do not know how to play their instruments into a much more assured live act, while they also balance full-time jobs and having babies. During that period they support The Moonlandingz on their autumn 2016 tour, tour the UK with Trashmouth Records and label mates Meatraffle at the end of 2016, and record two live sessions for Marc Riley on BBC 6 Music.

They also play two sold-out shows during Independent Venue Week, one at the Windmill in Brixton and another with The Moonlandingz at Hebden Bridge Trades Club. After a change of line-up, their first two singles, “Headless Children” and “Tron”, receive radio play on BBC 6 Music from Marc Riley, Gideon Coe and Tom Ravenscroft.

Releases and live work

Madonnatron play a slot at the Republic of Music show at the Great Escape Festival and are set to appear on the Rising Stage at Green Man Festival. Their self-titled debut album is released on vinyl and digital format, and they launch it at the Windmill, Brixton. The group also has further UK dates planned and is set to tour in early 2018.
