Madasun

Madasun is a UK pop girl group active from 1997 to 2001. The group is a three-piece act made up of Vonda Barnes, Vicky Barrett and Abby Norman.

Name and formation

The group takes its name from an eclipse on 11 August 1999, with the name meaning “Mad As The Sun”.

Releases

Madasun releases three singles on V2 in 2000. “Don’t You Worry” reaches UK number 14 and becomes a notable airplay hit, helped by a set of UK Garage mixes. “Walking On Water” also reaches UK number 14, while “Feel Good” peaks at number 29.

The group’s album, The Way It Is, charts at number 67 and the band disbands shortly afterwards.
