Machine Code

Machine Code is a drum and bass project made up of Current Value and Dean Rodell. The duo forms around a shared respect for dance music, with roots in techno, and both artists have already been active in underground electronica for more than 20 years between them.

Style and approach

The project works across drum and bass, techno, dubstep, darkstep, technoid and jungle. Its sound centres on heavy, experimental and cross-genre music, and it uses a manipulated modular synthesis approach in live performance. Machine Code aims to return to a raw, fresh sound shaped by synthesis and machine-based production.

Releases and studio work

Machine Code releases an album called Environments, its first LP, which brings together cross-over tracks that combine drum and bass, techno and dubstep. The duo works from its own Subdivision Studio in Berlin and continues to produce music there.

Live work

In live settings, Machine Code focuses on dense, hypnotic drum and bass, dubstep and techno with a harsh, mechanical feel.
