Macanta

Macanta is a bilingual acoustic indie folk group drawing on several musical traditions. The line-up includes a singer-songwriter from Harris, who wins the Rapal New Gaelic Song Competition, an Edinburgh cellist with Sri Lankan roots, a violist of Irish descent, a Gaelic harpist from Skye, and a Shetlander.

The group’s first EP, Cron (Damage), appears in December 2011.
