M. Craft

M. Craft is the stage name of Martin Craft, an Australian singer-songwriter who lives and works in Dalston, London. He first becomes known as a solo artist with the EP I Can See It All Tonight in 2004. That release brings him critical attention and is marked by a mix of bossa nova rhythms, acoustic guitar, dream-pop textures and his soft vocals.

Before his solo work, Craft is a founding member of the psychedelic Canberra band Sidewinder, together with his brother Nick Craft, who later performs as The Zillions. After the release of I Can See It All Tonight, Craft returns with his debut album Silver & Fire in 2006. The album includes several songs from the EP alongside new material.

The second single from Silver & Fire, You Are The Music, is remixed by labelmate King Creosote and Ali Love. Craft is backed by his band The Dark Circles, with Tree Carr on backing vocals, keyboards and glockenspiel, Maya Lubinsky on backing vocals and tambourine, and Paul Cook on drums. Tree Carr and Maya Lubinsky also provide vocals on Silver & Fire, and Tree Carr appears with Craft in the video for You Are The Music. Craft is signed to 679 Recordings.
