Lyoness

Lyoness is a UK rock band that began in Monterrey, Mexico in 2006 under the earlier name Versus. The group starts with Hugo Diem on vocals and guitars, Enrique Benítez on drums, David García on bass, and Be Flores on guitars. After David García leaves to pursue music in Los Angeles, the group continues as a trio, with Be Flores moving to bass and Hugo Diem covering all guitar parts.

Line-up and development

During this period, Hugo Diem also spends time producing other young bands from his home studio. One of these acts is Betavox, whose lead guitarist Rafael Cárdenas knows Be Flores through music-minor studies and performances together. When Betavox splits, Be suggests that Rafael join Lyoness on lead guitar. This completes the line-up and the band changes its name to Lyoness.

Style and activity

The band describes itself as independent and works across industrial, alternative pop, indie, alternative, space rock, rock, and pop. In the final line-up, Hugo Diem focuses on vocals and sequence programming, while Be Flores handles bass and keyboards. Lyoness plays shows across northern Mexico and in US cities including Austin, Texas.
