Lucy Wainwright Roche

Lucy Wainwright Roche is a singer-songwriter and performer from Greenwich Village, United States. Born in 1981, she works in folk and indie music and is known for a clear, powerful voice and a direct stage presence.

Family and musical background

She comes from a large musical family. Her parents are musicians Suzzy Roche and Loudon Wainwright III. Her maternal aunts are Maggie Roche and Terre Roche, who form The Roches with Suzzy Roche. Her paternal half-siblings are Martha Wainwright and Rufus Wainwright. Her aunt Sloan Wainwright and uncle David Roche are also musicians. She sings with all of these relatives.

Career

Before focusing on music full-time, she teaches in New York City for several years. In 2007, she tours with her father, her brother Rufus, and other musical acts. She releases an EP titled 8 Songs.
