Lowri Evans
Lowri Evans is a bilingual Welsh singer-songwriter from Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Born in 1979, she works in alt-country and Americana as well as Welsh-language songwriting.
Releases
Her Welsh-language releases include Clyw Sibrydion (Hear Whispers), issued in 2006 on the RASP label, which is part of Fflach, and Dim Da Maria (Not at Maria's), released in 2008 on the same label. In 2007 she releases her first English-language album, Kick the Sand.
Songwriting and recognition
Evans is known in Wales for her lyrics. In 2008 her song Ti a Fi (You and Me) places second in the national Can i Gymru competition. She also releases the Christmas single Dagre yn yr Eira (tears in the Snow) in 2008.
Live work and broadcasts
She performs regularly in venues across Wales and makes numerous appearances on Welsh television and radio. Tracks from Kick the Sand receive radio play in places including Australia and the United States. She also plays festivals across the UK and supports artists including Richie Havens, Cara Dillon, Jim Moray and Jez Lowe.
