Lowdrive

Lowdrive is a Sheffield-based group that forms in 2016. The lineup features guitarist John Hodgson, who has played in Warrior Soul and Goat Leaf, drummer Mat Washington, formerly of Goat Leaf, vocalist Sawf, formerly of Indra and Flip The Pyramid, and bassist Martin Gargalovic, formerly of F.T.P.

Style and activity

The band plays in a mix of classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal, rock and stoner rock, and focuses on riff-heavy songs. It also performs live regularly and is known for energetic shows.

Releases and recording

Lowdrive records its debut album, Roller, at Sheffield’s Toolmakers Studio across several sessions in 2017. The album first appears as a self-released issue and is later taken up by Cargo Records in London for worldwide distribution.

Live work and associations

The group plays with a range of touring acts, including All Them Witches, Scorpion Child, Jared James Nichols, Warrior Soul, The Colour Of Noise, Regulus, Doomsday Outlaw, Hell’s Addiction and Dust Coda.
