Louis Tomlinson

Louis Tomlinson is an English singer and songwriter from Doncaster, England. Born in 1991, he first appears on television dramas before auditioning for the British music competition series The X Factor in 2010.

After he is eliminated as a solo performer, he is placed with four other contestants in a group that becomes One Direction. The band goes on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Tomlinson is a member of One Direction and later pursues a solo career after the group goes on hiatus in 2016.

Solo career

Tomlinson’s debut solo single, “Just Hold On”, is released in December 2016. It reaches number two on the UK Singles Chart and is certified platinum in the UK. In 2017 he releases “Back to You” with American singer Bebe Rexha and “Miss You”.

His debut solo album, Walls, is released in January 2020.

Television and recognition

In 2018, Tomlinson appears as a judge and mentor on the fifteenth series of The X Factor, taking charge of the Boys category. When his mentee Dalton Harris wins the competition, he becomes the first former contestant on the show to act as the winning mentor. He also appears on Debrett’s 2017 list of the most influential people in the UK.
