Lost in Kyiv, formerly Lost in Kiev, is a French post -rock band formed in 2007, originating from Paris.
Their first album, Motions , was released in digital format on August 27, 2012, before being released a few months later on CD and vinyl. A concept album conceived as the soundtrack to a filM, it allowed the band to gain recognition and perform at various concerts in France. A first European tour with Zero Absolu took the band to April 2013 on French, Belgian, German and Czech stages.
Nuit Noire, the second album, was released on September 2, 2016 on the Dunk!Records label, after two performances at the Dunk!Festival in Belgium in 2013 and 2014. Darker than its predecessor, this album represents maturity and an openness to electronic samples. This album allowed the band to embark on a new tour taking them through Poland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Switzerland.
In 2017, the group, along with Wolve, performed the 3 French dates of the tour of the Norwegian black metal band Enslaved, before participating for the 3rd time in the Dunk!Festival, sharing the bill with God Is an Astronaut, Pg.Lost and And So I Watch You from Afar .
Their third album, titled Persona and inspired by technological evolution and the impact of artificial intelligence, was released on April 26, 2019. Upon their return from a tour, drummer Yoann Vermeulen announced his departure from the group and introduced his successor, Jérémie Legrand.
Rupture, the 4th album, was released on October 21, 2022 and explores the theme of change, both societal and environmental. The album's tour took the band across Europe, sharing several dates with The Ocean and This Will Destroy You.
The group announced on its social media on March 25, 2026 that they've modified their name to Lost in Kyiv, so that it's more in line with its values ​​and its vision of the situation in Ukraine.
