Losing Ground is a rock band from the United States, originally from Southern New Jersey. It forms in the summer of 2001 and develops a sound that sits on the harder and heavier side of punk while still drawing on punk roots. The band describes its approach as DIY, and it plays regular local shows early on, building a following across Southern and Central Jersey and in Philadelphia.
Line-up
The band line-up includes Chris Pflieger on vocals, Josh Schafer on guitar and vocals, John Comparri on guitar, and Charles Vest on drums. Bass duties are shared in the band’s history by Jason Vitagliano, Mike Tisa and Calvin Pflieger.
Style and activity
Losing Ground combines precise drums and bass with melodic guitars and emotional vocals. After a period in which two members leave, the band pauses for around three years before working on a return, with an emphasis on staying close to its fans and maintaining direct contact with them.
