Lorna Shore

Lorna Shore is an American deathcore band from Warren County, New Jersey, formed in 2010. The group also works within symphonic deathcore and blackened deathcore, and it is active under Lorna Shore Music and Century Media.

Line-up and early formation

The band begins with guitarist Adam De Micco, who is joined by Ray Meoni, Aaron Brown, Jeff Moskovciak, Gary Herrera and Scott Cooper. In the early period, Tom Barber becomes the vocalist after Gary Herrera sees him perform in a New Jersey mall and invites him to try out. The current line-up includes Will Ramos on lead vocals, Adam De Micco and Andrew O'Connor on guitars, Michael Yager on bass and Austin Archey on drums. Former members listed across the band’s history include CJ McCreery, Connor Deffley and others from its changing line-up.

Releases and development

Lorna Shore releases three EPs in the early part of its career: Triumph, Bone Kingdom and Maleficium. It then issues the full-length albums Psalms and Flesh Coffin. Tom Barber later leaves to take over vocal duties in Chelsea Grin, and CJ McCreery becomes vocalist before leaving after allegations of sexual misconduct. Will Ramos joins from A Wake in Providence and is officially announced as the band’s permanent vocalist in 2021.

Recent work and recognition

With Ramos, the band releases the EP …And I Return to Nothingness, led by “To the Hellfire,” which draws significant attention for its composition and vocal performance. The following album, Pain Remains, becomes its most successful release to date, reaches number 150 on the US Billboard 200 and receives strong critical acclaim. An instrumental version of the album follows later. The band then releases I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me, introduced by the single “Oblivion,” after further singles from the record.
