Lori Watson is a Scottish singer and fiddle player whose music draws on Celtic and Borders traditions. Born in Scotland in 1981, she performs in a folk context and works both as a solo artist and with associated bands.

Musical work

Watson performs with a band that includes her brother Innes Watson on guitar and Fiona Young on accordion. Barry Reid also plays guitar on the CD :Three. Her music is issued on her family’s record label, Isle Music Scotland, which she uses to keep control of her releases.

Collaborations and performances

She performs with and supports a wide range of artists, including Cara Dillon, John Smith, Brian McNeill, Aly Bain, Cathal McConnell, Duncan Chisholm, Karine Polwart, Dick Gaughan, The Unusual Suspects and Scottish Women. Her associated acts include Rule of Three and Boreas.

Training and background

In 2007, Watson studies for a PhD at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama while continuing her work in music.
