Loretta

Loretta is an indie group from Stuttgart, Germany. It is also described as a folk-rock-pop band, and its listed members include Christian Duder on bass guitar, Bernhard Hahn on drums, Klaus Paul on guitar and vocals, Rainer Rupp on guitar, lap steel guitar, harp, percussion, additional handclaps, some ancient instruments and vocals, and Andreas Sauer on vocals and guitar.

In one line-up listing, the group is identified as Loretta & the Chipmunks, with Andreas Sauer included among the members. Another source of the name refers to a Czech female heavy metal band founded in 1989, playing melodic heavy metal with melodic refrains. That band releases a self-titled long-player in 1991 and features Darja Hrubá on vocals, Pavla Musilová and Yvona Pešková on guitars, Martina Ponocná on bass guitar, and Monika Pellová on drums.

The name Loretta is also used by several other acts, including an Indianapolis four-piece that originally performs under a different name, a French soul singer, a punk rock band from Boston, and an Australian indie rock trio.
