Lord Huron

Lord Huron is an indie folk and indie rock group from Los Angeles, United States. It begins as a solo project for Ben Schneider, who studies visual arts in Michigan before moving west. Schneider starts writing the first Lord Huron material during a trip to Lake Huron in 2010, and the project grows into a full band soon after.

The group’s line-up includes Ben Schneider, Mark Barry, Miguel Briseño and Tom Renaud. Barry plays drums and percussion, Briseño plays bass, keyboard and theremin, and Renaud plays guitar. Barry, Briseño and Renaud are all from Michigan, matching Schneider’s own background in the state.

The band first records the EP Into the Sun as the basis for the project’s early identity. It develops a reputation for theatrical live performances, which become a defining part of the act’s presentation.
