Long Arm is a Russian musician born in 1984 whose work is associated with nu jazz and trip hop, with related tags including instrumental hip-hop, jazz, experimental and abstract. He is linked to Project: Mooncircle.

Early musical interests

He starts music education as a child and studies piano at music school. A first encounter with a DJ performance on television makes a strong impression on him and leads him toward turntablism and record collecting.

Development as an artist

Because turntables are difficult to obtain, he and a friend make their own from old Soviet phonographs and record players. He spends much of his free time listening to vintage vinyl records, which becomes an important part of his musical formation.

University years and later work

During university he writes his own tracks, plays in several bands and takes part in different projects. After graduating, he works in intelligent genre, and jazz remains a lasting influence on his music style.
