Lone

Lone is the electronic music project of Matt Cutler, a producer from Nottingham, United Kingdom. His work draws on house, IDM, ambient, hip-hop, early 1990s hardcore and techno, and it often combines different styles within the same release.

Releases and labels

Lone’s debut album, Lemurian, appears on the Nottingham label Dealmaker in 2008. He then releases a remix of Bibio on Warp Records and later signs to Actress’ London label Werk Discs. On Werk Discs, he releases Ecstasy & Friends, an album that brings together elements such as 1980s funk and 1990s hip-hop. His album Levitate follows in 2016.

Style

Cutler’s productions are known for blending electronic rhythms with influences from hip-hop and older dance music forms, moving across house, ambient, techno and instrumental approaches.
