Lone taxidermist

Lone taxidermist is the solo project of Natalie, a one-woman act based around macabre and gothic themes. The project uses saws, organs, bells, broken strings and blues-influenced vocal work, alongside Natalie’s voice, to create a sound that sits between folk, blues, experimental and avant-garde music.

Background

Natalie first emerges as the lead singer and songwriter of the Manchester band The Bottomfeeders. Lone taxidermist follows that period as her solo work. Her background in fashion and the visual arts shapes the presentation of the project, which combines music with strong visual elements.

Performances and associations

The act supports Thomas Truax, Beirut, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and Wildbirds and Peacedrums. Terry Hall of The Specials is also noted as an admirer.
